San Diego In-Progress Screening “Why American Men Dance”<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

At the invitation of Jean Isaacs and the San Diego Dance Theater, a fifteen minute excerpt of Why American Men Dance will screen as part of the Live Arts Festival April 20, 2017. Local male dancers\/dance makers will also perform that evening. Guaranteed male energy in the room!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Presenting new and recent work by choreographers Louie Cornejo, Rebeca Hernandez, Laurel Jenkins and Rachel Lopez, the dance makers \u00a0squeeze thirteen explosive dancers into these intimate cafe surroundings to realize an eclectic range of movement artistry. \u00a0All the performances are free and the aromas are delicious. \u00a0See more than one show and check out the cool cafes! \u00a0The dances may be a little different in each locale, too . . . .<\/p>\n

    Following last year’s successful run of this mixed genre performance, the new program includes dance choreographed by Keith with performers Louie Cornejo, Rebeca Hernandez, Steve Irvin and Shoji Yamasaki; music by Charles Sharp (sax) with Jeff Schwartz (bass) and Rich West (drums) and poetry readings by award-winning wordsmiths Pat Payne, Shy But Flyy, Aleida Rodriguez and Jen Hofer. Squeezing all of this into the intimate surroundings, the artists will make\u00a0the caf\u00e9s shake, rattle and roll!\u00a0 Get a cup of fresh brewed coffee, sit back and\u00a0feel the vibe.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
